This project was among the most personal we have undertaken. The client came to us with a simple but profound request — they wanted a room in their home that truly honoured their spiritual practice. Not a corner. Not a shelf. A dedicated space where entering felt like a genuine transition, and where the room itself actively supported the quality of prayer and reflection.
Every choice was made with intention. Warm, deeply saturated tones were selected to evoke reverence without heaviness. Soft indirect lighting draws the eye downward and inward, creating a natural stillness without the harshness of overhead sources. The layout was designed around a clear axis of focus, with nothing to pull the attention sideways. Materials were chosen as much for their tactile quality as their appearance — texture matters when you are present with your hands and your breath.
The client described the finished room as the most peaceful place in their home. It is now the first space they visit in the morning and the last before sleep. For us, that is the highest possible outcome a room can have.
